thesaraharminta · x · 2026-10-17
Sharing the Vals RSI Index (updated 10/15/2026), Andrew Curran argues Anthropic has singlehandedly compressed RSI timelines by about a year. The index scores autonomous LLM R&D against published, human, and frontier-model references. Anthropic's curve (including Opus 5.5) leads clearly, with extrapolated milestones of 50% RSI by Mar 2027 and 60% by Jul 2027, versus OpenAI (GPT-6.1 So1) reaching 50% in Jan 2028 and 60% in Aug 2028. Moonshot AI, Alibaba, Google, Meta, zAi and SpaceXAL models also appear on the chart.
