Four AI-agent tricks to stop overpaying on hotels and flights — half of hotels hide fees

A founder (disclosing his startup LetsFG, an official Claude connector) shares concrete ways to use AI agents to save on travel:
- Compare hotel totals, not nightly rates: have the agent sum taxes, resort fees, city tax and parking. In one city, nearly half of several thousand offers had a pay-at-hotel fee, shown inconsistently across sites — the "cheapest" listing often isn't.
- Cron-job free-cancellation rooms: check the same room daily until cancellation ends; rebook and cancel if cheaper. Prices swing far more than people think — the same room jumped 60% in hours.
- Search flights as two one-ways on different airlines across all nearby airports; two one-ways are often cheaper than any round trip. On separate tickets the second airline won't wait, so check on-time records and leave long layovers.
- Compare with bags included: budget-airline checked bags can cost more than the seat; add bags at booking, not at the airport.
You'll need a tool that returns real offers so the agent doesn't burn tokens on browser use.
