AllThingsApx · x · 2026-10-16
Bessemer & Bain's 2026 Healthcare AI ROI Scorecard, surveying 226 healthcare executives:
- Value concentrates in the back office: revenue cycle, claims and admin are now in production, returning 3-4x cost within 12 months; two-thirds of revenue-cycle respondents run semi- or fully autonomous agents vs 4% in clinical work.
- Pharma ROI by stage: self-reported 2.3x realized ROI in clinical development vs 3.4x in preclinical research. Last year 84% expected GenAI to transform clinical decisions in 3-5 years; one year later, 71% say it already has.
- The report also covers consolidation toward best-of-platform platforms and multi-trillion-dollar opportunities still unclaimed.
