Turning a Codex deep-dive article into a playable visual novel with every line sourced from transcripts
danshipper · x · 2026-10-16
At a show-and-tell, Lee Knowlton demos how he turned Dan Shipper's "How Codex Happened" article into an interactive visual novel using Codex: readers interview Tibo in a cafe with branching choices (morning rumor round, Antigravity forking moment), a back button that turns theme into game mechanics, and a sources log. Every spoken line is color-linked to captured interview transcripts; narration uses only confirmed facts, characters approved by interviewees, mixing hand-drawn and real photos.
