Critic Calls Figure's Terminator-Style Robot Demo Publicity Over Substance
FuSheng_0306 · x · 2026-10-16
After Figure staged a Terminator 2-style demo of its previous-generation humanoid robot leaping into molten steel, commentator FuSheng0306 called the company "great at publicity, bad at everything else."
His evidence: Figure's claimed role in building 30,000 BMWs amounts mostly to carrying panels, and its package-sorting demo replicates what traditional automation already does. He says he remains bullish on robotics long-term, but humanoids are far from real commercialization — the industry should be judged by whether robots can do useful work, not cinematic stunts.
