More companies sell robot intelligence than robots themselves, as Dexmate's Vega becomes a research hub

The author spots a pattern from this year: more companies are selling robot intelligence than robots. The same Dexmate Vega platform shows up across DeepMind's Gemini Robotics 2 launch, Amazon FAR's real-world RL on a dexterous humanoid, USC/Stanford/TRI's DUET, a Berkeley+NVIDIA+Stanford 100-hour tactile dataset, World Labs' Atlas launch, and even a Mayo Clinic residency track.
His take: models, VLAs, data engines, simulators and teleop stacks are crowded, but vendors who will sell a lab a capable bimanual mobile robot this quarter at a published price are thin — so teams with a policy to validate either wait on partnerships or buy hardware.
