Dev Building AI Nutrition Coach for Travelers Open-Sources Mealsight Vision+Voice Workflow
HowDevelop · x · 2026-10-16
A developer building Tend, an AI nutrition coach for people managing fatty liver while traveling, open-sourced the core meal-analysis experience as Mealsight.
The workflow: upload a food photo or describe the meal, a vision model identifies it, the user reviews the result, a confidence check asks clarifying questions when uncertain (and refuses non-food images), then the conversation continues with follow-ups. It runs on NVIDIA Nemotron models. The full Tend app is still in development.
