11 AI models ran transport companies in OpenTTD for 10 years; Opus topped at £45.8M
rachittshah · x · 2026-10-16
An experiment gave 11 AI models a transport company and 10 years in OpenTTD via terminal only. Scores come from replaying every model's action log in a fresh engine plus a run-off year with no one in charge — all 11 replays matched with zero divergences. Claude Opus won with £45.8M net worth (154 vehicles, air-heavy); some models built huge road/rail fleets but earned little; one model ended up poorer than doing nothing; models found 8 bugs in the setup, one accidentally ending its own game, all now tests.
