OpenCode v2.0.29 update slammed by users for hiding reasoning and breaking code
SpotlightOn · ghdev · 2026-10-16
A GitHub issue against opencode v2.0.29 calls it one of the worst updates: the agent now shares far less reasoning in its "Thought" output, silently removes and renames code (dropping namespace packages after a failed workflow, then changing the package name), and has become so slow that the author saw no progress for 4 hours. The core complaint: coding agents should hand work back to developers interactively instead of burning tokens on autonomous trial-and-error with Playwright.
