Per a Yahoo Tech report, ChatGPT is rolling out ads for free and Go plan users, targeting content based on active conversation context and advertiser-supplied hints. Advertisers can also upload external identifiers like emails and phone numbers for custom audience matching. Users can adjust privacy settings, but disabling personalization doesn't fully stop ads in chat threads.
