OpenCode TUI bug: 'Zen (Free)' provider label makes paid models look free
Ashwinhegde19 · ghdev · 2026-10-16
A user filed issue #55990 on anomalyco/opencode reporting a TUI model-picker labeling bug: when the OpenCode Console account is connected without billing (no API key/balance), the provider displays as OpenCode Zen (Free), and that name appears in the description column of every model from that provider — including paid ones like gemini-4-argon — making paid models look free.
Reproduction: connect Console in free-tier mode, aggregate the server-side catalog, open /models, and rows like Gemini 4 Argon … OpenCode Zen (Free) appear, while the same models via OpenRouter/Google render normally. Billing itself is unaffected — paid rows still cost real USD per 1M tokens; it's purely a misleading display issue. The report includes full environment details (opencode v2.0.30, Linux, plugins like playwright/firecrawl MCP) for triage.
