How to build a Claude "second brain": master context file, weekly reviews, monthly blind-spot prompts
JafarNajafov · x · 2026-10-16
After two years of using Claude, JafarNajafov shares a three-step system for a personal "second brain" that remembers your goals, patterns, and blind spots:
Step 1: Master Context File — a doc listing your 3 specific yearly goals, top 3 constraints (time/money/skills), default blind spots, and decision-making style; paste it at the start of every session.
Step 2: Weekly Pattern Review — every Sunday, dump the week's decisions, wins, and avoided items into Claude and ask what patterns it sees vs the last 3 weeks.
Step 3: Monthly Blind-Spot Prompt — "Here's my plan. Based on everything you know about my goals and patterns, what am I most likely getting wrong? Don't validate me. Find the gap."
Real example: one founder ran this for 4 weeks and Claude flagged that he consistently delayed confrontation-heavy decisions (contractors, partners, pricing) — what he thought was thoroughness was avoidance, made undeniable by the data.
