Google Raises 2026 Capital Spending to Up to $205 Billion

Google has raised its 2026 capex guidance to $195–205 billion, a major increase over prior guidance, with the bulk going to AI infrastructure including new data centers and hardware procurement. It is the largest single-company capex figure among hyperscalers to date, with ripple effects across power, land, construction, and chip supply chains — and added pressure on grid operators to keep pace with Google's buildout, confirming the data center arms race is still escalating.
