CoWorld Reasoner uses an evolving video world model as a visual reasoning engine

Researchers from Hong Kong Polytechnic University introduce CoWorld Reasoner, an agentic multimodal reasoning framework that treats a video world model (VWM) as a unified visual reasoning engine.
- Motivation: VLMs increasingly need spatiotemporal reasoning over motion, actions, and view changes beyond input images; VWMs can generate task-relevant visual evidence, but existing approaches invoke them via fixed pipelines centered on one predefined form of imagination (e.g., novel-view synthesis)
- The Video World Model-Driven Harness exposes multiple visual operations as tools and uses skills to guide the VLM in deciding whether to imagine, selecting an operation, constructing the generation request, and interpreting the visual evidence
- VLM-VWM Harness Co-Evolution jointly revises tools, skills, and generation strategies so visual imagination co-evolves with the reasoning task
