Kyle Morgenstein shared a live demo of Tesla's 2-DOF car turned into a 6-DOF flying vehicle, which micoolcho calls jaw-dropping and notes has far fewer DOFs than the Optimus humanoids Tesla is also building. Morgenstein's hot take: despite the bonkers engineering and the confidence to demo it live, this is a fundamentally easier control problem than humanoid robots or dexterous manipulation, solvable with model-based methods like iLQR / MPC.
