Datadog Launches Scout 1.0, an RL-Trained Model for Investigating Production Incidents
HanchungLee · x · 2026-10-16
Datadog has unveiled Scout 1.0, its first in-house AI model built for investigating production incidents. The company says Scout matches frontier-model investigation quality at a fraction of the cost, making it practical to investigate more issues earlier. It was trained via reinforcement learning on realistic simulations built from real-world incidents and production telemetry, rewarding accurate root causes backed by evidence. A preview is open for sign-up. As one commenter put it: "the model is the product."
