Deep Research becoming useful to experts will signal RSI arrival, researcher predicts
ZeeshanZiaML · x · 2026-10-16
ML researcher Zeeshan offers a prediction: Deep Research systems becoming genuinely useful to domain experts will be a leading indicator of recursive self-improvement (RSI) arriving.
His argument: today even the best Deep Research implementations return garbage compared to what an expert can find themselves in non-verifiable domains. Only when systems produce expert-grade, useful research output in fields lacking verification signals would it suggest the model can drive its own improvement loop.
