Five rounds of adversarial prompting make Opus 5.5 and Argon converge on identical output

LanceCharger · reddit · 2026-10-16

A Reddit creative-writing user compared Claude Opus 5.5 against Gemini's Argon using identical outlines and context files in a five-prompt adversarial loop: rewrite, break the structure, critique each other, rewrite in the other's structure, then synthesize a final version.

Findings: both models initially clung to the user's outline despite explicit instructions to improve it; the fifth-prompt outputs were almost identical between Argon High and Opus 5.5 High — "creepy and bizarre." Usage gap was stark: Argon High ran out after five prompts while Opus 5.5 High was only at 41%. The author (who also complains Argon burns 15% usage per chat without a plan) sees the convergence as a bad sign for AI-enhanced creativity. Single-sample experiment, unreplicated.
