Reservoir, launched with Vinod Khosla, lets anyone bank their cells — Claude explains why it matters

A KOL shared Reservoir, a new cell-banking service launched in partnership with Vinod Khosla (tagline: billionaires have owned their cells for years, now you can too), saying he only grasped its significance after asking Claude.
Claude's breakdown: your cells are a document rewritten daily, never back toward the original — banking them now preserves your youngest, least-damaged version. By 2036 this could plausibly enable:
- Heart patches: beating heart-muscle sheets already conditionally approved in Japan; autologous cells eliminate donor cells and anti-rejection drugs
- Retinal cells for age-related macular degeneration — likely the first "your cells, your cure" in ordinary clinics
- Insulin-producing islet cells for diabetes, now in human trials; your own cells remove immune rejection
- Motor neurons after spinal cord injury, where the treatment window is short and banked cells shine
- Cartilage, cornea, skin repairs
- Fertility support cells, already in late-stage IVF trials
- A version of you in a dish: your neurons/hepatocytes for drug testing — in ALS research, lab-grown neurons predicted patient outcomes, likely the first real use
