Manifund and Mox launched Surplus, a 3-month SF software incubator for public-good startups in the age of transformative AI: 10 founders, $100k SAFE at a $2m post-money cap, office space and mentorship, applications due July 10. The thesis: for-profits beat nonprofits on feedback loops, financing and talent, and billions flowing from Anthropic employees and the OpenAI Foundation make now the time to build. Focus areas include LLM-powered epistemics and coordination tools.
