Higgsfield reneged on open-sourcing, so Comfy is offering $25K to rebuild its apps in the open
crystal_alpine · reddit · 2026-10-16
After Higgsfield failed to deliver on its promise to open-source its entire platform, the ComfyUI team launched a two-week bounty: $25,000 in prizes for the best open-source builds on the Comfy Developer Platform that recreate apps like Genjutsu and Cinema Studio — or invent new creative apps. The one hard rule: publish the repo.
- Grand Prize: $10,000 (all entries considered)
- RTX 5090 GPUs for Most Innovative, Most Viral, and Open-Weights-Only builds
- 10 runners-up get $250 in Comfy credits
- Partner bonuses: $2,000 cash from LTX for the best LTX-based VFX workflow, FLUX API credits from Black Forest Labs, $1,000 in API credits from MiniMax
Backed by NVIDIA AI and Runpod, with in-person build sessions in SF (10/28) and LA (10/29).
