Sharing Meta's research page announcement (via a Day-0 support post, not yet independently verified): Meta released open-weight Muse Spark Open, billed as the most capable US open-weight model to date.
- Specs: natively multimodal, 816B total params (42B active), 1M-token context, built for coding, agentic long-horizon tasks, complex software engineering, and multi-step reasoning.
- Desktop inference: first model of its class to run at home — two Apple M5 Ultra Mac Studios (up to 512GB unified memory for GPU each) plus the latest MLX framework hold the entire model.
- Availability: APIs on Baseten, Fireworks, Groq, Modal, Nebius, OpenRouter, Together AI; weights on Hugging Face, SageMaker, Google Cloud Model Garden, Microsoft Foundry; supports SGLang, vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, llama.cpp with AMD/Apple/Intel/NVIDIA optimizations.
Official benchmarks and an evaluation methodology report are linked.
