Researcher kjaganatha released SpliceAI2 splice variant effect benchmarks with considerably improved performance across nine evaluations: cryptic splicing, sQTLs, MPRAs, population genetics, plasma proteins, and rare disease. Stanford professor Anshul Kundaje amplified it, calling these "pretty massive leaps in modeling splicing" that deserve deep reading.
