Vercel Connect adds MCP Events in public beta for event-driven agents
cramforce · x · 2026-10-16
Vercel announced MCP Events support in Vercel Connect, now in public beta, letting apps and agents subscribe to webhook events from compatible MCP servers and respond without waiting for a prompt — e.g. summarizing new messages, reviewing newly created issues, or reacting to document feedback.
Key details:
- Connect creates subscriptions on the MCP server, renews them automatically, and verifies server webhooks before forwarding events via authenticated delivery
- The SDK exposes experimentalsubscribe to specify event name (e.g. issue.created), arguments, destination path and TTL (e.g. 24 hours)
- Delivery endpoints should verify each event came from Connect before acknowledging
This pushes agent architecture from prompt-driven toward event-driven autonomy.
