Perplexity open-sources SPACE, the Firecracker microVM sandbox behind its Computer agents
sull · x · 2026-10-16
Perplexity has open-sourced SPACE, the sandbox platform that runs every task in Perplexity Computer, under the Apache 2.0 license.
Key design points:
- Each agent task runs in its own isolated Firecracker microVM
- Credentials and outbound traffic are controlled from outside the VM, reducing credential-leak and exfiltration risks
