Vercel Drives is GA: persistent storage lets stateful agents survive environment changes
evilrabbit_ · x · 2026-10-16
Vercel Drives is now generally available, giving agents persistent file storage that is decoupled from their execution environment, integrated with Vercel Sandbox.
Usage is simple: create a drive once, then mount it into any sandbox.
- CLI: sandbox drives get-or-create agent-workspace, then sandbox create --mount agent-workspace:/workspace
- Sandbox SDK: Drive.getOrCreate() plus Sandbox.create({mounts})
Everything under the mount point (e.g. /workspace) persists across runs, so an agent can move into a new environment with different tools, runtimes, or compute and pick up exactly where it left off — designed for stateful agentic workloads spanning multiple sessions.
