Demis Hassabis officially announced Gemini 4 Argon, praising its knowledge work and coding abilities and demoing a wizard chess game showcasing its physics understanding and 3D modeling. Argon rolls out today to Google Ultra and Pro subscribers in the Gemini App and Search, and to Ultra subscribers in Antigravity.
Early tester applesjimmy reports strong world knowledge and physics understanding — great for breaking old ciphers and obscure language translation — with some rough edges, placing it back in a top-3 tier alongside OpenAI and Anthropic.
