Linear CEO disables Gmail Advanced Protection for Claude email agent, says no trustworthy agentic email tool exists
zeeg · x · 2026-10-16
Linear's CEO describes wiring Claude into a daily email routine—shutting off Gmail's Advanced Protection to do it, auto-filtering cold sales outreach, recruiter spam, and LUMA invites, and predicting generic spam will overwhelm Google's filters until they fix it.
He also sends a market signal: Gmail is failing him and he'll pay for agentic email processing, but can't find any reputable option—everything new is a YC company with questionable security and "vibe slop." Both a case study in plugin-permission tradeoffs and evidence of demand for the agentic email category.
