Meta released Muse Spark Open, billed as the most capable US open-weight model: 816B total / 42B active MoE params, 1M token context, natively multimodal (text/image/video/audio), built for coding and long-horizon agentic work. Per the quoted thread, Meta worked with Apple to optimize MLX, including native multimodal support in mlx-lm and MoE/Thunderbolt clustering optimizations, achieving roughly 20 tokens/s on 2x M5 Ultra.
