OpenUI 1.0 released: streaming agent UIs, 10K GitHub stars and 6M downloads

The OpenUI team released version 1.0, arguing agents need better interfaces: for 30 years technology has turned information into intuitive interfaces, yet the smartest software we've built took us back to a textbox.
OpenUI is an open-source, model-agnostic library that lets any AI app stream a UI built from your own components, rendering agent outputs as small actionable interfaces instead of plain text. ChatGPT's Intelligent UI showed what this looks like; OpenUI aims to bring it to every other agent.
Open-sourced 6 months ago, the project has 10K+ GitHub stars and 6M+ downloads. Omar Sanseviero of dair-ai, who uses it in his own agent orchestrator, believes it could become a standard way to interact with agents.
