Perplexity open-sources SPACE, its Firecracker microVM agent sandbox

Perplexity open-sourced SPACE, the sandbox platform powering every task in Perplexity Computer, under Apache 2.0. Each agent task gets its own Firecracker microVM, with credentials and outbound traffic controlled from outside the VM. Sandboxes outlive their requests and can pause, fork, or suspend to memory/disk snapshots. The Rust repo includes pluggable runtimes, an egress gateway, templates and examples.
