SlipSense fuses pressure and vibration for 23ms zero-shot robotic slip detection
micoolcho · x · 2026-10-16
SlipSense (Dexterous AI Group, Analog Devices) is a multimodal tactile slip-detection framework built on the TacV5 sensor, fusing a 32×32 piezoresistive array (240 Hz) with a 3-axis MEMS accelerometer (8 kHz) via modality-specific encoding, intra-sensor fusion and cross-modal attention. On a 1.4M-frame dataset spanning 37 objects it hits 96.7% macro F1 with <1.6% false positives, detecting 76% of slips within 23.1ms — and transfers zero-shot from a UMI gripper to a Tesollo hand without retraining. The episode also covers Touch2Trace, tactile-driven imitation learning for dexterous cable tracing.
