Google overhauls AI Mode & AI Overviews links again, still won't show click data

Per Barry Schwartz, Google has again updated how links and carousel cards appear in AI Mode and AI Overviews: more links, some placed higher, direct "right web page" links for certain queries, timely article carousels expanded to more regions/languages, and tests linking creator Search profiles from videos.
Google frames this as driving clicks to publishers, but efforts to convert AI search traffic keep falling short—and click data still isn't shared.
