AssemblyAI · x · 2026-10-16
AssemblyAI's Universal-3.6 Pro speech-to-text model is now live on OpenRouter via its Sync API: one request returns a finished transcript — no job polling, webhooks, or WebSockets — and it can share the same key as your existing LLM calls.
Improvements over Universal-3.5 Pro:
- 30% fewer errors on short conversational utterances; 12% fewer errors on average across supported languages
- 14 new languages, including Korean, Russian, Cantonese, Marathi, and Urdu
- Better recognition and formatting of phone numbers, addresses, emails, and codes
- Priced at $0.30/hr ($0.000083/second); synchronous requests handle up to 120 seconds of audio with word-level timestamps, plus free-text prompting, keyterms, and conversation context
