Use Claude to exploit hotel best-rate guarantees: price-match plus 25% off at Marriott and Hilton
Efistoffeles · reddit · 2026-10-15
A Reddit user shares three practical ways to use Claude to get money back on hotels you've already booked:
- Best-rate-guarantee arbitrage: Within 24 hours of booking direct with Marriott or Hilton, have Claude (via connectors like Booking, Tripadvisor, Brek, LetsFG) hunt for the same room, dates and cancellation terms for 1%+ cheaper elsewhere — the hotel then matches it AND takes another 25% off (IHG gives 5x points). Nobody does it because manually checking 10 sites is a pain. Note: Hilton's August rule update requires the cheaper rate to still be bookable and excludes app-only prices.
- Monitor free-cancellation bookings: Add a scheduled task so Claude rechecks the room every few days and rebooks if cheaper — the author has seen the same room jump 60% in 3 days.
- Check local events: A summer festival once added $200-300 to a stay, with prices crashing two days after.
The core idea: hand all the tedious price-checking and monitoring to an agent.
