SakanaAI Open-Sources AutoIllustrate: Editable draw.io Paper Figures from Method Text
RobertTLange · x · 2026-10-15
Alongside The Agentic Scientist, RobertTLange released AutoIllustrate, an agentic pipeline for editable conceptual figure generation based on drawio. It takes methodological paper summaries and turns them into publication-grade figures: it first generates an editable vectorized .drawio diagram, then uses an image-generation model (gpt-image) to produce enhanced versions that researchers can iteratively refine in drawio. Open-sourced under Apache-2.0 with a CLI and blog examples.
