Evan You open-sources Void full-stack platform after acquisition kills commercial plans
cnakazawa · x · 2026-10-15
Evan You, creator of Vite, announced that his team had been building Void, a full-stack app platform, before their acquisition. Originally planned as a commercial product, it is now fully open source since there's no longer a need to monetize it.
Void v1.1.11 includes:
- SDK: zero-config building of full-stack Vite apps
- Platform: a shared deployment platform hosting Void apps on Cloudflare
- CLI: provision resources and deploy Vite apps to Cloudflare or Void
Users can deploy the Void platform to their own Cloudflare account for a self-hosted instance. Tagline: "Build on Vite, Deploy on Void."
