Danish breach exposes 8.8M people's data — admin password was "123456"
gnukeith · x · 2026-10-15
A hacker accessed personal data of over 8.8 million people in Denmark via Pays ApS, a company with legitimate access to the country's Central Register of Persons (names, addresses, personal ID numbers). Three company accounts used the password "123456" — one of them an admin account.
The attacker made roughly 14 million searches before the breach was noticed, and only after an unusually large invoice revealed the massive database access. Shared with an "OPSEC level: bro" mocking meme.
