Proof Launches x401, an Open Protocol Letting AI Agents Prove Who They Act For
csuwildcat · x · 2026-10-15
Proof launched x401, an open protocol that puts verified legal identity and signed transaction authorization for AI agents into production. Any website can ask an agent to prove who it represents and what the user approved, via an agent identity wallet — no Proof contract required. It works with MCP-supporting assistants including Meta's Muse, ChatGPT, Grok and Claude, and follows Amazon's blocking of Muse from its marketplace plus recent FinCEN guidance recognizing verifiable credentials. Verification is pay-per-use; debuting at Money20/20, booth 5069.
