Nous Research ships official REA plugin letting Hermes Agent reverse engineer binaries and apps
NousResearch · x · 2026-10-15
Nous Research's Teknium released an official REA plugin for Hermes Agent, wiring the REA (rea.tools) reverse-engineering toolkit into agent workflows.
- Reverse engineers native binaries, .NET assemblies, Electron/JavaScript apps, Android packages, firmware, and browser/process activity
- Ships as an Agent Plugins v1 package: an MCP server (npx stdio, [email protected]) plus an adapted 'reverse-engineer-anything' skill (target routing, summary-first evidence paging, investigation planning)
- Returns structured Evidence — decompiled code, call graphs, app graphs, captures — for Hermes to explain or build on; native decompilation requires your own Ghidra/Hopper/IDA
- Install via hermes plugins install rea; needs Node.js 22.19+, MIT licensed
