Benchling launches Science Foundries: multiplayer agent swarms for end-to-end science workflows
nlarusstone · x · 2026-10-15
Benchling's Head of AI Nicholas Larus-Stone announced Science Foundries, a platform where scientists and agent swarms run scientific processes end-to-end:
- How it works: Pick a process or goal (produce proteins, optimize a lead, improve manufacturing), then set which steps agents run and where scientists approve. Agents execute, monitor, coordinate handoffs, and surface key decisions.
- Example: A pharma team runs high-throughput antibody design-build-test workflows — models design sequences, CROs synthesize constructs, lab automation runs production and assays.
- Context: Agents are Benchling's fastest-growing capability ever; a three-person team coordinating agents across internal and external labs can now match the output of thirty.
