Treat every GitHub issue as untrusted input: guardrails for issue-fixing agents
Al_Grigor · x · 2026-10-15
In a recent workshop, the author had participants build GitHub issue agents: a manager opens a room per issue and kicks off the fix. But anyone can file an issue — that's an attack surface.
Mitigations discussed:
- Run agents remotely or in containers to limit blast radius
- Keep human PR approval until your reviewer agent earns trust
- Louis's team is adding guardrails at the room/message layer
Takeaway: when automating issue triage or fixes, treat every issue as untrusted input. Full Q&A at 01:07:05 in the recording.
