Anthropic launches Conceptual Reasoning Fellowship bringing philosophers and lawyers in-house for 4 months

Anthropic has unveiled a "Conceptual Reasoning Fellowship" that brings researchers from philosophy, cognitive science, economics, policy, and law into the company for four months to work alongside its research teams.

The rationale: many future-shaping questions — in law, policy, ethics, and AI safety itself — have no single checkable answer and demand expert judgment built over years. Anthropic argues that safely developed frontier AI can become a real partner on these questions, but only by working with domain experts. Fellows will pair their expertise with Claude models and internal tooling to evaluate, improve, and apply the model's capabilities in their fields.
