Inanimate preps WORKS: AI-agent-powered physical devices you control with prompts
genmon · x · 2026-10-15
The Inanimate team is preparing WORKS, a limited release of "Promptable Products" — physical devices inhabited by AI agents that understand what you want and change their behavior when asked.
Current status from the lab:
- Components arriving from around the world
- Final design details coming together
- Provisioning and claiming process nearly complete
- Richer on-device interfaces in the works
- Devices talk to each other and respond almost instantly
It's a notable take on consumer AI hardware: embedding agents into physical products that can be reprogrammed in natural language on the fly.
