Google AI Studio can now build Android apps from prompts and ship them privately to your phone

A developer walked through building an Android app entirely from a prompt in Google AI Studio:
- In the Build tab, pick "Build an Android app" and describe the app — the demo created "Creator Desk," a content-creator workspace with a dashboard, calendar, search, dark mode, and local storage.
- AI Studio generates the app and previews it in a browser-based Android emulator, no coding required. Iterating is just asking AI Studio for changes, and the app installs straight to your phone.
The kicker: Google Play now lets you launch personal Android apps privately — no paid developer account, the app stays private and never hits the public Play Store. The feature is rolling out to adults in selected countries.
