DeepSeek outage compensation reportedly hands single accounts over $850K in API credits

DeepSeek's compensation for its recent service outage is staggering: some individual accounts reportedly burned $500K and up to $1M in API usage in a week, all now refunded as credits. A screenshot shows a single account holding 6,105,265.37 CNY in remaining credits.
teortaxesTex wonders how anyone hits that usage — "24/7 max concurrency? Are these transfer stations?" — and calls it a "ludicrous show of virtue" from DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng.
