Cohere has acquired Aisle, a Prague-based defensive cybersecurity startup focused on protecting the open source ecosystem. Aisle has discovered 200+ High/Critical CVEs in critical software including curl, FFmpeg, FreeBSD and Wireshark.
Aidan Gomez notes Aisle outperformed better-known efforts like Glasswing (Mythos) and Daybreak — it recently found 29 new CVEs in curl while Mythos found zero, a comparison confirmed by curl's lead maintainer. Within Cohere, Aisle will keep defending OSS while its tech is pushed to critical-infrastructure companies for fully private, even air-gapped software scanning, deepening Cohere's European sovereign AI offering.
