Skywork open-sources Matrix-Game 4.0, a playable world model running in real time on one RTX 5090
mishig25 · x · 2026-10-15
Skywork AI released Matrix-Game 4.0, billed as the first open-source interactive world model that runs in real time on a single consumer GPU: 480p at 60 FPS, 112ms end-to-end latency, up to 83.4 FPS generation, all on one RTX 5090.
It pairs an executable game engine with a causal video model: the engine handles gameplay, physics and player input, while the model turns low-poly RGB frames into detailed visuals via streaming neural rendering, closing the loop of input → engine update → render → interact. The same world model supports different genres (shooters, racing) by changing code rather than retraining. Code, weights and demos are open source; the repo already has 2.5k stars.
