The author has scraped AI engineering job posts monthly since February across Berlin, Amsterdam, London, New York, LA, and India. September snapshot:
- Only 1% of titles say junior/entry-level; 50% don't state a level, and of the rest nearly all are senior+
- Feb→Sep trend: the integrator stack (RAG, agents, LLM APIs) rose from 80% to 91% of postings, while trainer-stack skills declined
Conclusion: AI engineering isn't a junior role. The author and Hugo Bowne-Anderson are planning a paid hands-on course and collecting survey input, with a 30% discount for respondents.
