elonmusk · x · 2026-10-15
Jensen Huang once admitted nobody placed an order for NVIDIA's first AI supercomputer — except Elon Musk, who said his company could really use it. The $300,000 machine was delivered personally by Huang to San Francisco in 2016, to a nonprofit full of researchers that turned out to be OpenAI. The post frames Musk as uniquely early in spotting the value of AI compute.
